Orange Poppy in Full Sun - Printable Digital Painting
The Story:
During a walk, these magnificent orange poppies were in full bloom, and one particular flower completely stopped me in my tracks. I was drawn to the unusual, crinkled tissue papery texture of the petals and immediately had a clear vision of how I wanted to try painting it in oils.
So, naturally, I unapologetically whipped out my phone to snap an absurd number of photos of this flower in a total stranger’s front yard. I probably looked crazy, but I couldn't be bothered to care!
Poppy blooms are stunning but fleeting, and I wanted to immortalize this one so I could enjoy it year-round. I don’t usually paint many orange things, but I simply couldn’t help myself. It’s one of the few paintings that turned out almost exactly like I envisioned, so needless to say... I’m proud of her.
